About

The Ross Richer family — Jerrell, Jane, Sierra, Naomi, Teresa and Jordan — have embarked on a mission to accompany indigenous followers of Christ in the Amazonian rainforest.

This is a two-way mission — after spending the first six months of eachFamily Cacao 2 year in Ecuador we will return to the US for the second half of the year to share what we have learned from our sisters and brothers in the Global South with our family, friends and churches in the North.

While in Ecuador our family is supported by Mennonite Mission Network.  You can learn more about MMN by visiting their website:

or checking out our family’s page on the same site:

Jerrell is also a professor at Goshen College, teaching classes in global economics at the Goshen (Indiana) campus each fall semester and bringing groups of students to Ecuador for field-based courses during the May term.  Next year he will begin teaching on-line courses in the new Collaborate MBA program (with faculty from Goshen College, Eastern Mennonite University and Bluffton University).

You can learn more about Goshen College or the Collaborative MBA program at:

or read Jerrell’s faculty profile:

Our home congregation is Waterford Mennonite Church, without whose support and encouragement we would not be able to carry out this two-way mission:

From one person God created all of humankind to inhabit the entire earth,
and set the time for each nation to exist and the exact place where each nation should dwell.

God did this so that human beings would seek, reach out for, and perhaps find the One who is not really far from any one of us – the One in whom we live and move and have our being.

Acts 17: 26-28a (The Inclusive Bible)
